Why we love it:
- Photinia fraseri ‘Carre Rouge’ is a new compact variety of photinia which has blood red growth and smaller leaves and is approximately half the size of its mother plant Photinia ‘Red Robin’
- With more intense colour than ‘Red Robin’, it’s easier to maintain as a shrub and an excellent hedging choice
What you need to know:
- 1 x Photinia fraseri ‘Carre Rouge’
- Plant Type: Evergreen, bushy, hardy shrub
- Flowers: Large, creamy white in April/May
- Height: 2.5m
- Spread: 2.5
- Position: Full sun, partial shade
- Soil Type: Moist, well drained
Caring for your plant:
- This is sometimes caught by late spring frosts, and some shelter is advisable
- You get the best foliage colour by planting in full sun
- Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings in summer
- If you shorten the stems of established specimens by up to 15cm (6in) – to just above an outward-facing bud – it will encourage a profusion of bright young foliage in late-spring or summer
- Please note plants can take 3-7 days to deliver as we have to pick from our nursery and prepare for transport. Please remember this is a live product. Please make sure you’re available to receive delivery or leave an alternative delivery message such as “leave with neighbour” during the checkout process
