Why we love it:
- Ceanothus hail from California (common name: Californian lilac) and there’s a great variety of cultivars, including the evergreen ‘Concha’
- Ceanothus ‘Concha’ has a dense habit, growing to 3 metres in height and width, with arching branches bearing narrow, dark green leaves and profuse clusters of deep, vibrant blue flowers in April and May
- Ideal for a sunny mixed border, it grows particularly well against a sheltered fence or a sunny wall and is brilliant for attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinators into the garden
